You Man dissolve

The perception of man, the perception of our counterpart constantly changes. Today, more than ever, it is characterized by a superficial assessment. A deeper approach with the other often only takes place in fragments. The complex, multi-layered essence of man dissolves in this perception.

Nine layers of fine silk take the image of a human, becoming identifiable in its depth in a direct frontal confrontation with this sculpture. If the observer moves out of the central observation axis and around the portrait, the latter dissolves into translucent planes, which have only a restricted view of the figure.

Silk, monochrome printed, with dissolved out layers of a portrait, clamped in a wooden frame, freely hung above the ground, form a cube with an edge lenght of about 1.50 m. Translucently photography disintegrates and emancipate from its one-dimensionality into a multi-layered spatiality.

“You Man dissolve” has been selected for the 7th Art Biennale 2017 Beijing (Biennale Foundation)
The Artwork was added to the Collection of NAMOC (National Art Museum of China)
